Abstract

In the fifth in our series of profiles of organizations affiliatted to IUGS, SGA Secretary Saupé describes this multilingual, European-based, but otherwise international society formed in 1965. The SGA is well known through its journal Mineralium Deposita and its books on ore deposits. SGA maintains close ties with the other two international societies devoted to mineral deposits, the Society of Economic Geologists and the International Association on the Genesis of Ore Deposits.
